BLR lead driver Ben Luff secured another P1, 20 points and fastest lap of the night at TeamSport Karting Grid Series Championship on Thursday 21st March.

After a busy 15 minute practice where Ben was only able to complete 4 laps at qualifying pace out of 12, his time left him in P3 behind current lightweight British Indoor Karting's National number 2 Elliot Tuesley. Qualifying didn't start well either with Ben having to change his kart twice due to mechanical issues, but after 5 minutes in his 3rd kart of the session, his times improved and he began to move steadily up the order. The last 5 minutes of qualifying was crucial with all drivers finding gaps to          improve their lap times and with just 3 minutes left Ben nailed pole position for the lightweights and overall on the night   beating Elliot and Taylor Barnes who is the current British Indoor Karting National number 3 at middleweight.

Starting in pole for the 20 minute race allowed Ben to put the hammer down early and pull away from the field. With a close battle between Josh in P2 and Elliot in P3, Ben pulled a 10 second lead out front in the first 7 laps. With the competition now well behind, Ben was able to settle into his rhythm and not only finish 32 seconds ahead of Josh and Elliot in P2 and P3, but also set the fastest lap of night overall.

Overall now Ben leads the lightweights Grid Series championships at TeamSport Crawley with the maximum 40 points.
